Interim Executive Director
Dr. Nila Das is the Interim Executive Director for the Windsor Essex Child/Youth Advocacy Centre.
Ever since Nila was a young girl, growing up in a small town in India, her purpose has been to inspire to build a world where every child is safe and has the right to be treated equitably, and respectfully.
Starting as an Elementary School Teacher in India to becoming a Research Scientist at the University of Windsor and later as a Consultant & Operations Project Manager at VON Canada’s Strategic Growth and Partnerships Office, Nila has been blessed to lead multiple community initiatives throughout her career. Nila leads by finding creative solutions to challenges, building relationships with a degree of trust and accountability, staying calm when faced with adversity, and advocating for people whose voices are not heard.
Nila believes in an organizational culture that is driven by accountability, trust, and freedom, that is unbossed, curious, and free to speak their minds and make an impact. Nila believes in people and the power of positivity and change.
Nila holds a doctoral degree in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Windsor, and an MBA from Odette School of Business.
