Director
As President and Trustee of the India Canada Association of Windsor and Essex County, Shobha has always provided full support to their children and youth programs and helped international students and new immigrants to integrate into our multicultural society. She has had the experience of serving on the board that was instrumental in the strategic planning and acquisition of land, construction of the building, fundraising, and management of the Windsor Hindu Temple and Cultural Centre.
Currently, Shobha is a semi-retired general dentist. She graduated from the University of Bombay (B.D.S) and then from the University of Manitoba with a D.M.D. degree. She has been in general practice for over 30 years providing dental care to all ages ranging from children to seniors in nursing homes. She has also rendered clinical care to individuals with complex medical conditions and intellectual disabilities at the Manitoba Development Centre, in Portage La Prairie. She has been a part-time faculty member for dental hygiene students at St. Clair College.
Shobha believes that the vulnerable children/youth in our society deserve our compassion and full support when they experience disturbing situations. They need direction from the team of professionals in safe surroundings and reassurance and encouragement from the community during their challenging times.
