Director
After over 25 years in a Management Position at the Windsor Essex Children’s Aid Society (WECAS), in 2017, Janet Palamides retired from her position as Director of Intake and Afterhours Services.
Janet achieved her BSW in 1980 and began her career in Child Protection with the Children’s Aid Society of the County of Essex in 1984. In 1991, Janet completed her MSW and was promoted to Intake Manager. Jan held the position of Intake Manager and shortly thereafter was promoted to the position of Director of Intake and Afterhours Service. In 1996 Janet won the Social Workers of the Year award through the Ontario Association of Social Workers. Over the years Janet has been instrumental in creating collaborative relationships with community partners and demonstrating her strong passion and commitment to serving children and families.
Through her many years of work experience, Janet thoroughly understands the trauma that children and families, affected by abuse, experience. As such, Janet fully supports the approach of navigating the justice system through a child’s eyes.
